Our first speaker for the 2019-20 University Women’s Club luncheon on Sept. 13 is Dr. Donde Plowman, UT’s new chancellor. Dr. Plowman began her duties July 1, returning to UT from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, where she was executive vice chancellor and chief academic officer. Prior to serving as Dean of UNL’s College of Business Administration, Dr. Plowman was head of the Dept. of Management at UT.  As UT Knoxville’s ninth chancellor, Dr. Plowman will take UT into its 225th year this fall.

Dr. Plowman’s doctorate is in strategic management from the University of Texas at Austin, Master’s in higher education administration from the University of North Texas and undergraduate in English from Southern Methodist University. She is married to Dr. Dennis Duchon, Dept. of Management chair at UNL. They have 2 grown sons.

Natalie M. Rice, PhD is a UT College of Communication and Information doctoral program alumna (2012).  She is currently a research consultant at the Baker Center Institute for Nuclear Security (INS) at the University of Tennessee where she conducts research on global security, anti-Americanism, and issues related to Russia and the former Soviet Union. Natalie graduated from CCI’s Master’s program with a concentration in Journalism and Electronic Media. Her B.A. is from the Department of Social Communication at the Belarusian State University (Minsk, Belarus). Natalie has published a number of articles on various global security and public policy topics with a special focus on anti-Americanism, nuclear security, mass media, and public opinion in the former Soviet region. To attend, RSVP to amoore9@tennessee.edu by Tuesday, October 8th. The luncheon is $15 and you may pay at the door via cash or check.
